The Bureau of Labor Statistics does no focus on all areas of health and medical administrative services but rather just within the administrative services manager's area. Their projections over the decade 2008-2018 are that this industry will grow faster than the average. They believe the future outlook for administrative services managers is favorable because of expectations for continued growth within the health industry; this is due to medical advances and the growing number of elderly within the general population. The best jobs will be available for those applicants who have previously worked in health care and possess strong skills in business management.
In May 2008 BLS reported median annual wages for medical and health services managers at $84,240 with the lowest 10 percent earning less than $48,300 and the highest 10 percent earning more than $137.800. The salaries of these professionals vary by the type and size of the medical facility for which they work and of course, their level of responsibility.
